What does a sonnet have to do with a preschool? When we set out to choose a name, we talked about the emotional characteristics most important to the foundation of our schools. The more we reflected on the emotions, thought and talent that went into the making of poetry, the more we started liking the name – we are after all a pre-school – and believe that “purposeful play” is a requirement in our classrooms on a daily basis. Sonnets Academy captured both the feelings and ideas we wanted to convey to our families. Among those we considered essential were passion, creativity, intelligence and inspiration.

Creativity
We hope to create a spark in your children that enables them to start on a path where they realize their full potential – a path where they will be well served by experimenting, expressing and exploring different activities and ways to develop and understand the world. It is also a fundamental reason our curriculum is based on learning through play and the reason our teachers develop lesson plans that reach each individual in their classroom.
Intelligence
We want your children to have every opportunity to start a lifetime of learning and exploration.
Our curriculum includes art, reading, math, science, music and languages to stimulate their minds and support their growth.
Inspiration
We are inspired by the challenge of developing each child, the whole child – emotional, intellectual, social and physical – who attends our schools. In turn, we hope that your child feels a sense of wonder, excitement and commitment for something, anything that touches them, teaches them and gives them the feeling of being fully alive and aware.
