“SAVE THE BIRDS, BEES, TREES, & SEAS”
Spring at Sonnets
This spring we focused on the wonders of the Earth through hands-on exploration and interactive experiences.
Activities such as nature walks allowed the children to observe local flowers and trees, fostering a connection to their environment. We learned about the seasons, weather patterns, and the importance of ecosystems through creative play and storytelling. We incorporated art projects, such as creating collages from natural materials, helping us to express our understanding of the planet in a tangible way.
Through these enriching experiences, the children built on their early appreciation for the world around them.

Highlights of the Month
National Reading Month
Reading to infants is a wonderful way to foster early language development and strengthen the bond between caregiver and child. Even at a young age, infants are eager to absorb sounds, rhythms, and patterns in spoken language.
It’s All About the Trees!
Trees play a vital role in our planet and are perfect for hands-on learning. Classrooms got outside to observe real trees, touching the bark & feeling the leaves. We collected small items like acorns, leaves, and branches to talk about how trees grow and provide homes for animals, then we used them to create art!
Working Hard at the Book Shop
Pre-K helped to work our Scholastic Bookfair cash register! We enhanced communication and confidence in “customer interactions” (mom & dad), a super fun way to introduce math activities for counting and basic addition to build foundational skills.

Sonnets is proud to be connected to our community
We celebrated the Week of the Young Child, honoring children's growth and development. This special week highlights the importance of early childhood education in nurturing creativity and social-emotional learning. Our classrooms featured activities showcasing the talents of our young learners, from art projects to teamwork games, all designed for holistic development. Families were invited to join events like storytime and family art days to strengthen the home-school bond. Together, we created a memorable celebration of our youngest learners and their potential.
