“Save the Birds, Bees, and Trees”
Spring at Sonnets
This spring we focused on the wonders of the Earth through hands-on exploration and interactive experiences.
Activities such as nature walks allowed the children to observe local flowers and trees, fostering a connection to their environment. We learned about the seasons, weather patterns, and the importance of ecosystems through creative play and storytelling. We incorporated art projects, such as creating collages from natural materials, helping us to express our understanding of the planet in a tangible way.
Through these enriching experiences, the children built on their early appreciation for the world around them.
“For the Record, You’re a Classic”
February at Sonnets
Introducing children to classic books and music opens up a world of imagination and creativity. At Sonnets Academy, we believe in nurturing young minds through the timeless themes found in classic literature and the beauty of renowned musical compositions. Our engaging curriculum incorporates storytelling and music appreciation, fostering a love for reading and rhythm from a young age. Children explored beloved tales and iconic melodies, helping them develop empathy, critical thinking, and cultural awareness. This enriching experience not only enhances their literacy and auditory skills but also cultivates an enduring appreciation for the arts, laying the groundwork for lifelong learning and exploration.
“Open Up the Curtains - Broadway for Kids”
January at Sonnets
“Broadway for Kids” offered a magical introduction to the world of theater, where familiar stories came alive through vibrant performances and captivating songs. This past month we had the chance to experience colorful musicals and enchanting plays that sparked imagination and creativity. With themes that resonated with children, such as friendship, adventure, and dreams, like Aladdin, Wizard of Oz/Wicked, & The Lion King, teachers encouraged kids to explore their emotions and develop a love for storytelling.
